About This Site

www.dial211.com is a collaborative effort by Nevada County, First Five and Helpline. The Community Resource Directory is designed to provide information to community members as well as those outside of our community who may be looking for help for a family member.

Information included in this site is focused on cities, county, state, non-profit and essential for-profit resources. All services listed are either in Nevada County or provide services to Nevada County and/or Tahoe/Truckee region residents.

Community Resource Directory Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria

Agencies listed in the Community Resource Directory are those who will verify contact information (name, address, phone, and area served) on an annual basis.

Organization Types Included:

Government
Cities
County
State & Federal service providers serving Nevada County residents
Nonprofit
Critical for-profit organizations in health care and recreation

Other for-profit organizations and entities may be included, such as support groups that are not incorporated as organizations or organizations providing discounted recreation or health care programs for community groups.

Geography: Agencies must either be in Nevada County or providing services to Nevada County and/or Tahoe/Truckee region residents. Local agencies are listed as the primary agency when part of a national or multi-region organization

Service Eligibility Considerations for Membership Organizations: We reserve the right to exclude agencies only providing services to members.

Stability: The Community Resource Directory lists national organizations that users can refer to for up-to-date contacts of service organizations and support groups.

Political & Issue-Oriented: The Community Resource Directory will list non-profit organizations with varied perspectives on political and issue-oriented subjects.

Organizational Viability: Organizations meeting all the above criteria must be operational for a minimum of six months before being listed in the Community Resource Directory.
